Purple Rain and Ocean Water
I came up with two new drink recipes over the summer.
First, back in May (summer starts in May here in AZ), Hollywood Alley in Mesa started a Thursday 80s night, so I created a special drink in tribute utilizing one of the new flavored rums that were being introduced. I named the drink Purple Rain.
Purple Rain:
1 oz. of mango flavored rum
1/2 oz of blue curacoa
pour both over a pint glass filled with ice
top off with cranberry juice
give it a quick shake to blend the colors well so it turns out purple.
During a visit to my local Sonic, I decided to try their Ocean Water, which is just lemon-lime soda with blue colored coconut flavored syrup added . Seems fairly easy (and obvious) to emulate. You can now offer your guests the same type of refreshing drink. I've noticed that lemon-lime soda seems to be a more refreshing option than cola or even sugary juices when it comes to cocktails, so why not do something both different and refreshing.
Ocean Water:
1 oz of Malibu or any other coconut flavored rum
1/2 oz of blue curacoa
pour both over a pint glass filled with ice
top off with cranberry juice

I no longer participate in the webtender forum you recently posted a question about honey. I am assuming you are talking about the bar rescue show. Michael tips is an actor, not a bartender (the so-called expert mixologist). See for yourself on fb, you'll have no mutual friends. I wouldn't do anything that guys says, anyway, to answer your question in a far less analytical way than apetail did on the forum, just add water to dilute the honey, making it easy to pour. That simple. Avoid that forum man, it's full of haters and slanderous wanna be's. There is a reason all the big dogs avoid it, it's just full of people who want to be recognized but have no skills. No website, no books, etc.. most of them don't even bartend. Apetail is smart and cool, but he's a chemist not a bartender, drink for thought man.
